As you plan your trip to New Orleans, please feel free to reach out to our wedding planner, Michelle Norwood, with any questions. We have included answers to some frequently asked questions below.

What type of weather should we plan for?

Early December in New Orleans is usually mild. Average temperatures will likely be between the low 50s to the upper 60s during our wedding weekend, but the weather in New Orleans can be unpredictable. We recommend planning for a light coat or wrap, especially for the evening, and checking the forecast the week of!

Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors at The Columns. The reception will take place indoors, with access to outdoor courtyard and patio spaces.

Will transportation be provided for the wedding events?

Transportation will be provided for all wedding events. For both the welcome party and the wedding day, shuttles will run continuously between The Pontchartrain Hotel and the venues.

On Friday, shuttles will operate between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM, and on Saturday between 3:00 PM and 3:45 PM. We encourage guests to arrive a bit early for the ceremony at The Columns so there’s time to get settled and comfortably seated.

What transportation options are available for travel to and from the airport?

Traveling from Louis Armstrong International Airport to our recommended hotel typically takes 20–40 minutes by car, depending on traffic. Rideshare services are readily available, with a short 2–5 minute walk from baggage claim to the pickup location.

Our wedding events will take place in the Garden District and the Bywater, and a car rental is not necessary for traveling to and from the venues. That said, if you prefer to rent a car, parking at our recommended hotel starts at approximately $50 per night.

Will children be invited to the wedding events?

Our welcome party, wedding ceremony, and reception are adult-only events. If you’ll be traveling with children or pets and need sitter services, our planner would be happy to provide referrals. Please note that The Country Club is a 21+ venue.

Are guests allowed to take photos during the ceremony?

We’d love for our photographer to capture the ceremony, so we kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during that time. Once the celebrations begin, feel free to snap away. We would be thrilled if you shared your favorite shots with us afterward.
